Default Mickey Thompson vs Hoosier

Let's here your opinions on those two brands of slicks?? Which do u think is better??

I notice when I'm at the track, if I do a good burnout on my mickeys, my car will not hook for anything. If I just spin the tires thru the water up to the line, I hook great. I spoke to others at the track and they say mickeys don't like burnouts becuz they get MILKY!! Whatever that means.

A lot of peoe have been recommnding the Hoosiers to me lately!!

Maybe they're sayin' that the tires get overly-soft from the burnout......and as a result, they just won't keep their hold of the ground during the launch.

In any case, I run Hoosiers, but I know that MTs are generally a good tire.

This cat last nite had a sleeper. Factory impala wheels with a full 17" low profile kumho slick. He was hooking like no other!!

I ran MT ET Drags, and they required almost no burnout at all, but would still hook if you burned the hell out of them.

If what you call a 'good burnout' is what you're doing in the middle pic of your sig, you're overheating them. Your other approach is warming them up, which is what they like.

I ran MT ET Streets for a few years and all they needed was a quick burnout just to put a little heat into them. In our crappy CA tracks (i.e. no track prep), I managed 1.7 60's times.

That burnout is a little excessive.

What pressure do you run your tires at, and more importantly, what size and compound are you using?
