Looks like 5" backspace seems to be about right for no rubbing. My goal is a factory stance, no rubbing, classic look with some nice wheels. I am thinking a Cragar style wheel is what I want. Can anyone verify, for sure, that 5" backspace is what I need? Also, the Cragars come in Chrome or Polished cast alluminum. What do you think would be better? I think Chrome woudl look better and be easier to take care of, but I also know it can start to flake and look bad later. Same with alluminum. Anyone have expereince with both care to reccomend either?

I have the 17x8 Cragar SS 5" backspace on my wagon, I like the look but they are hard to find now and the chrome finish isn't up to standards from the set I bought 25 years ago!! No rubbing issues. See tire size in my sig.
You really have to stay on top of them or they flash rust bad.
Wish I had saved up for some 20's with some lip on the rear and staggered front. Just my opinion.
Someone had a set of Cragar SS on here for sale before the great crash. Steve

I've had 17X8X5" b.s. TT-2's on my wagon since day one. No rubbing issues in the rear but the fronts will rub if turned almost full lock. I'm using 245/60/17 tires now instead of the 255/50/17 that were on there until this summer. HTH.
