[quote=slackskillz;2188138]or you could spend a little over two hundred and get something more retro and updated than the old style looking guages your caprice came with.

retro and old have the same meaning, the digital looks pretty cool, maybe the guy doesnt want to take the time to switch the cluster, yes the analog guages on the digital ones are ugly but it's worth to repair

that is only if he wants to keep it original, but you are right, updating it will look better with a tach on it

Well, the decision is his where he wants to spend his money.
Personally, I'd get the camaro cluster... I'm working on one right now.

To each their own I guess.

Default next step....

my odometer goes in and out....more out than in. I just got finished doing this repair to no avail. I didnt do the solder part becuase im not sure how hot or how long the tip should be on the ciruit board and I aint tryna fry nothing. I cleaned the contacts and raised the pins but its not doin anything when i tap on the lower left of the cluster while disassembled but plugged in, it will light up. When I shut the car off I have to tap it again upon start up to get it lit again. Thats just tonight after I reinstalled after repair.

Now you reopened that cluster change vault in my head, I'm thinking of getting it changed too

You wont regret it that's for sure. Especially since you can get different faces for those guages too
