I'm getting ready to redye my steering wheel and airbag, and obviously it's a much easier an cleaner job with it out of the car.
I read on a couple sites that I need to disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for a certain amount of time so it does not deploy when reconnected. Anyone have any idea how long or can tell me step by step? I have been told before to remove the airbag fuse and disconnect the battery, which is sound advice. I just want to be sure before I end up popping airbags for no reason. Thanks

You only have to remove the fuse to disable the airbag system. If you cut the wire to get the bag out, the FSM says to use wire crimp connectors to reattach it. Other than that it is a simple R&R.

Yeah, after looking at my pm's I remembered. To quote my hero Ron White, "Ever Forget? Happened to me!"
Turns out the the dye was such a good match, the all I had to do was overspray control. Didn't even have to remove the wheel.
